1. Acceptance of terms

By downloading or using TrayZen ("the App"), you agree to these Terms & Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. Who we are

The App is developed and published by Jakub Růžička, an individual entrepreneur ("Developer", "we", "us") based in the Czech Republic. For contact details, see §12.

3. Licence

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use.

You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
  • Remove or alter proprietary notices
  • Use the App for any unlawful purpose

4. In-app purchases and subscriptions

4.1 Free tier and premium options

The App is free to download and use. The core timer, 30-day history, and smart reminders are available to all users at no charge. Premium features (Live Activity lock-screen widget, Apple Watch companion, and future add-ons as they ship) are unlocked through one of two optional purchase options:

  • TrayZen Premium (Yearly): an auto-renewable subscription charged annually. A 7-day free trial is offered to new subscribers; no charge is made during the trial period. After the trial, the subscription renews automatically at the then-current price (shown in the App Store or Google Play at the time of purchase) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. Current price: approximately €9.99 / year (exact price may vary by region and applicable taxes).
  • TrayZen Premium (Lifetime): a one-time non-consumable purchase that permanently unlocks all current and future premium features. No recurring charges apply. Current price: approximately €16.99.

All transactions are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. Prices are shown in the relevant store at the time of purchase and may vary by region.

4.2 Subscription renewal and cancellation

The yearly subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it. To cancel, go to your device's subscription management screen:

  • iOS: Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions → TrayZen

Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You retain access to premium features until that date. After the subscription expires, the App reverts to the free tier. No data is deleted.

We reserve the right to change subscription prices. You will be notified of any price change in advance through the App Store or Google Play, and the change will not take effect until your next renewal.

4.3 EU right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you generally have the right to withdraw from a purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.

Yearly subscription (with free trial): Your 14-day withdrawal period begins when your subscription starts. Because the trial period means no charge is made for the first 7 days, you can cancel during the trial with no cost. If you cancel after the trial has ended and you have been charged, you may contact us or Apple/Google to request a refund for the unused portion, subject to the relevant store's refund policy.

Lifetime purchase: Because the Lifetime purchase unlocks digital content that is activated immediately, by completing the purchase you expressly acknowledge and agree that performance of the contract has begun and that your right of withdrawal lapses at that point, in accordance with Article 16(m) of the Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU.

4.4 Refunds

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their respective store policies. We cannot issue refunds directly. To request a refund from Apple, visit reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play, use the Google Play Help centre.

4.5 Restore purchases

If you reinstall the App or switch devices, you can restore your purchases via the "Restore purchases" option in the App settings or on the paywall screen.

5. No medical advice

TrayZen is a personal tracking tool and a convenience aid only. Nothing in the App constitutes medical advice. TrayZen does not replace guidance from your orthodontist. Always follow your orthodontist's instructions regarding wear time, tray changes, and treatment duration. Do not rely on the App for medical decisions.

6. Availability and updates

We aim to keep the App available and up to date, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, that any particular feature will remain available, or compatibility with future iOS versions. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time with reasonable notice of material changes.

7. Intellectual property

All content, design, code, branding, and trademarks in the App are the property of the Developer or their licensors. The TrayZen name, logo, and visual identity are protected. You may not use them without prior written permission.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

  • The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • The Developer is not liable for any loss of data, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the App.
  • The Developer's total liability to you for any claim arising from the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the relevant Add-on, or €10, whichever is greater.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited under applicable EU consumer law.

9. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the law of the Czech Republic. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Czech Republic, except where mandatory provisions of EU consumer law provide you with greater protection in your country of residence.

As a consumer in the EU, you may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform.

10. Age requirements

TrayZen is rated suitable for users aged 10 and up. The app contains no violent, adult, or otherwise age-inappropriate content. It is a simple wear-time tracker for dental appliances.

Users under 16 (EU) or under 13 (US) are welcome to use the app with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian. No personal data is required to use TrayZen. The only identifier is an anonymous device UUID that cannot be linked to any individual.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If changes are material, we will notify you via an in-app notice or by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
